Soul4Soul Celebrates the Best of British as part of LIMF(Liverpool International Music Festival) Fringe

Soul4Soul is Liverpool's only regular live soul music event. The event aims to provide a platform for up & coming talent, together with established artists and musicians. Artists performing this month are Kristyna Myles, Ami Langton & The Exchange Band

KRISTYNA MYLES
Kristyna got her first break back in 2005 busking on the streets of Manchester, winning ‘BBC Radio Five Live Busk Idol’ along with her guitarist Ben Williams. The Manchester based songstress has since then been on tour of Europe, performed her songs on BBC 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4 and her self-penned song ‘My Lord’ was featured on a Universal Records compilation CD ‘Songbird 2008’ with the likes of Amy Winehouse, Eva Cassidy and Erykah Badu.
Performing live is where Kristyna is most comfortable. Her first public performance aged 4 in the Church choir was a sign of things to come. Kristyna has performed globally at SXSW in the states, at arenas across Europe with Chris De Burgh and has opened for Mick Hucknall, Will Young, Status Quo, Pink Martini, M People and last summer for Lemar and The Wanted at Jersey’s Big Gig in The Park. Kristyna is also an ambassador for Centrepoint, a UK based charity giving young homeless people a hope and a future. Last year Kristyna embarked on a busking tour of the UK to raise money for the charity and later met patron of Centrepoint HRH Prince William and Prince Harry. Kristyna is still on her quest to raise more funds for the charity on her next tour.
Kristyna released her debut single “I’m not going back” in 2012 on Decca Records receiving critical acclaim in Music Week with featured articles in The Daily Mail and The Sun. Kristyna awaits the release of her debut album produced by Grammy Award winning producer- Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Paolo Nutini, Gomez) in 2013.  Songs on the album span a 10 year period from one of her earliest written songs “Betrayal” at age 16 to “Make it right” some 10 years later. ‘Pinch Me Quick’ Kristyna’s debut album will be out later this year.

AMI LANGTON AND THE EXCHANGE BAND
Ami Langton and the Exchange Band are a four piece Jazz-Soul-Funk outfit from Liverpool. All members have been in and around the Liverpool music scene for a number of years now, each playing in a wide variety of different bands with an array of talented musicians.
All songs are original compositions, with music and arrangements coming from Guitarist; Karl McCabe, whose influences are from the cross-over styles of Al Jerrau, Grover Washington Jr. and Bob James.
The vocal side is the work of main protagonist; Ami Langton, whose mix of power Soul-Funk vocals coupled with her melodic lilt of 40's and 50's jazz singers, marries perfectly with her original lyrics and melody.
The rhythm section consisting of Drummer; D Fresh and The Mak of all Trades on bass, adds an extra element of Hip-Hop and RnB to their exciting new sound.
Ami Langton and the Exchange Band should appeal to music lovers in general as this collective serves up a musical style not often heard in bars and clubs in Liverpool these days.
